Tides dropped but water temps should warm with sunshine. Redfish and black drum have been found along the channels on mullet and crabs. Water temps knocked bass to deeper water temporarily, but sunshine in the coming days should push largemouths back to the shallows.

Outdoors report: March 27

What had been a decent bite on the south shoreline turned sour, but sunshine is in the forecast for today through next week. Tides had begun to swell before the front, but north winds knocked levels back down for a day. Guide Harold Dworaczyk of Bay Flats Lodge said the trout bite has picked up while wading shell.

A poll of 2,000 people across the UK found that over-55s spend more than twice as much time outdoors than those aged between 16 and 24, walking an average of 20 miles every four weeks.
