Incoming tides have raised water levels and send bait and fish to the back lakes. Guide Ray Sexton reported trout to 29 inches and limits of redfish on Down South Lures while wading sand and grass. Toms are still chasing hens and gobbling on most ranches, but look for gobblers to become quieter in the coming days after most hens have been bred.

Soft plastics have been good for trout to four pounds on the moving tide. Guide Ray Sexton reported limits of redfish while wading south shoreline guts. The winter dove season opens today and prospects look promising, though the threat of rain could hamper flights.
